How the eBook is rendered

FilZap reads every chapter document inside the EPUB in reading order and renders them in sequence into one continuous PDF, set in a serif typeface with comfortable page margins. Chapters are separated by a visible rule so the structure stays clear as you scroll or flip. Headings, paragraphs, emphasis, and lists carry through from the eBook's own markup.

Reflowable text becomes fixed pages

This is a genuine change in kind, not just a change of file extension. An EPUB reflows to fit whatever screen and font size you are using, so it has no inherent page numbers. A PDF has fixed pages. That is exactly what you want for printing, for citing a specific page, or for marking up a text — and it is why you lose the ability to enlarge the type the way an eReader lets you.

What does not survive the conversion

The tappable table of contents becomes plain text rather than PDF bookmarks, so navigation is by page rather than by chapter link. Elaborate publisher styling and embedded fonts are simplified in favour of a clean, readable layout, and complex fixed-layout EPUBs such as comics or illustrated children's books will not reproduce their original design. Straight prose — novels, reports, documentation — converts well.

Frequently asked questions

Is the EPUB to PDF converter free?

Yes, FilZap converts EPUB to PDF for free with no account, no watermark, and no page limit.

Can I print the PDF?

Yes. The output has fixed pages with proper margins, so it prints predictably on any printer and in any PDF viewer.

Do DRM-protected eBooks work?

No. Books bought from most stores are encrypted, and that protection prevents the file from being read at all, so the conversion fails. Only DRM-free EPUBs — such as those from Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, or your own exports — can be converted.

Is the table of contents still clickable?

No. The contents list is rendered as text, not as PDF bookmarks, so you navigate by page number rather than by tapping a chapter.

Why does my illustrated eBook look plain?

Fixed-layout EPUBs such as comics, cookbooks, and children's picture books depend on precise publisher styling that is simplified during rendering. Text-led books convert far more faithfully than design-led ones.

Will the text still be searchable and selectable?

Yes. The PDF contains real text rather than page images, so you can search it, select it, copy quotes, and let a screen reader read it aloud.

Can I convert a MOBI or AZW file?

Not here — this tool takes .epub. Convert your MOBI or AZW to EPUB with a desktop tool such as Calibre first, then upload the EPUB.
